Mole activity in the summer.

Another mole caught by No Nonsense Pest ControlSummer is here! It must be as the summer migrant birds have arrived, the Swallow, Swift, Nightjar and even the Cuckoo. Oh yes and even the rain, without which our lawns and gardens would not grow.

Especially in Dorset, now is the time to enjoy the outdoors with longer warmer evenings, maybe a spot of gardening, a walk along the beach at Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole or just sat on the patio or decking at home.

But wait a minute, what is that pile of earth in the lawn? What is that unusual ridge in the flower border? Why has my lawn become uneven? Why are some of my plants showing distress?

Chances are, the answer is an invading mole has taken up residence and is busy doing what moles do, causing mayhem!

Moles need to feed a lot and in the process, will dig for hours on end, excavating tunnels to catch their prey of worms, insects and even smaller mammals or reptiles. In locations where the soil allows, they will not make molehills, but simply push through the soil to lift up the top layer of soil or turf. In flower borders, this tunnelling can disrupt, or disturb roots of plants causing damage or destruction.

No-Nonsense Pest Control only use mole traps, placed in a professional way which is safe and humane.
